Measles is one of those diseases we don’t tend t Measles is one of those diseases we don’t tend to worry about anymore because vaccination has worked so well - but it hasn’t gone away. Cases are on the rise again and it is highly infectious.

💉 Measles is more than just a rash, and vaccination gives the best protection against our little ones becoming unwell.

Since the measles vaccine was introduced in the 1960s over 20 million cases have been avoided, saving over 4,500 lives - which shows how safe and effective it is.

With summer holidays on the horizon and families expected to travel, it is vital that parents and guardians check their child’s Red Book to make sure they are up to date with their vaccinations and contact their GP practice to catch up on any missed doses of the MMR vaccination.

📕 Check your child’s Red Book, and contact your GP to check your own vaccination record.

Are you setting clear boundaries? Setting clear Are you setting clear boundaries?

Setting clear boundaries is a theme that shows up time and time again with clients.

👉🏽First you have to be clear on what your boundaries are. Then the hard bit which is implementing them.

🤯When we fail to do this the “stress” and “strain” finds a way to show up as a negative consequence in our health. Over time this chronic stress can predispose us to both physical and mental health problems.

What are the signs in your body that you are pushing yourself, giving too much and not being clear on your boundaries?

Mine are: headaches, back pain, eating lots of chocolate. When these symptoms are showing up in my life more frequently, I know it’s time to review my work- life balance. How does it show up for you? 👇🏽

Ps I offer 1:1 one of coaching sessions and can support you with this ❤️ DM me if you are interested.

During a consultation with a patient in her 20s we During a consultation with a patient in her 20s we were chatting about her contraceptive options and I mentioned the Intrauterine coil (IUD) also know as the coil.

She asked me “Isn’t the coil just for people like my Mum and my Grandma?”

And I said: “No way! The coil can be for anyone who wants a reliable long acting reversible method of contraception whether they are under 25 or in their 30s,40s and right up to the menopause regardless of whether they have had a baby or not”.

There are lots of stereotypes and myths out there about contraception. Do your research, ask as many questions as you need to ask and take your time. It’s your body and it’s important you feel you’ve been given all the information you need about the various different options so that you can make the best decision for you.

Keep your eyes peeled for details of my Instagram live on the Copper IUD in the next couple of weeks when I’ll be answering your questions and talking about the pros and cons. 👀 Drop me your questions below 👇🏽

I’m unable to give out personalised medical advice. Please see your healthcare professional for this.

Home made bread! Just add water 😄 #notanAD I h Home made bread! Just add water 😄 #notanAD

I heard about @kittys.kits whilst listening to my favourite podcast with @hollytucker @conversationsofinspiration I was inspired by Kitty’s story of her mental health and how baking bread at home was part of her recovery. She now has her own business baking and selling bread. ❤️

I’d been thinking about baking my own bread at home for a while as we are super keen as a family to minimise highly processed foods. These bread making kits are the perfect way to get started! And my 3 year old enjoyed getting his little hands stuck in too 😊

Could you have Menstrual Migraine? If you’re a Could you have Menstrual Migraine?

If you’re anything like me it took me years to establish that some of my migraines were in fact linked to my menstrual cycle.

Menstrual migraines tends to be more severe, longer lasting and less responsive to treatment than other migraines. YAY. 😳

The good news is that there are treatment options available in the form of hormones, pain killers, supplements and lifestyle changes.

But first it’s important to establish if you do have menstrual migraine. There is no test so try keeping a dairy at home and track your periods and migraines for at least 3 months. Then speak to your GP.

Join me or his Friday 30th June where I’ll be talking to Migraine Expert @migrainedoc all about migraines and hormones.
